MINI-GRANT PROPOSAL AND GUIDELINES 2026/27
The Educational Foundation of Yuma County offers mini-grants to teachers/school librarians/counselors/coaches each year to assist with special projects or programs in their classrooms or schools. The mini-grants are competitive grants with a maximum funding of $1000.00 per grant. The Education Foundation will be awarding a 'bonus' of $100 in the 2026-‘27 Mini-Grant competition for the most well-written proposal that scores the highest on the rubric by the proposal evaluators.
Applications open on September 1st and are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd, 2026. Before you apply, check with your business office regarding your district policy on using grant funds should your application be funded. A letter of support from your building administrator is a required part of the application. You will need to attach the letter to the application before you will be allowed to submit it. Your principal will be notified should your proposal be funded. Announcement of grant recipients will be made during the week of October 19th via email.
We recognize the benefit of consulting an AI platform for supplemental verbiage in developing grant proposals; however, as professional educators, you are expected to thoughtfully adapt those suggestions and craft them into your own proposals.
Mini-Grant Criteria:
1. Projects and programs must support the school and (if applicable to your project) grade level State Standards (if applicable).
2. The mini-grant will not fund field trips.
3. Selected projects must expend funds during the current school year.
4. AI can be consulted (i.e. editing, assisting with drafting the supply list, etc.) but should not provide the sole content of your proposal.
Mini-grant Proposal Process:

3. Read the questions carefully, and be sure to provide clear information about your proposed project including a detailed budget.
4. Get a digital letter of support from your building administrator.
